means not confirmed. It is not the same as no.
Each line lists the stays here whose official sites confirm it. A stay that is missing is not confirmed, which is different from no.
Taranto and its coast suit a trip built around Primitivo wine country, a historic palazzo, an old city with a major archaeological museum, or a wedding: eight of the 12 say they host one. The area has 12 stays on The Puglia Edit in nine comuni, in estimated price bands 1 and 2. Look elsewhere for a luxury week or a beach-first trip.
Hotel Il Grillo in Marina di Pulsano lists a shuttle to nearby beaches; for the other 11, check the stay page before you assume the sea is close.
Italia.it dates Taranto to 706 BC, when Spartan settlers founded it, and places the old city on an artificial island made in 1480 between the Mar Grande and the Mar Piccolo. It calls the MArTA national archaeological museum essential for local history. What is on in the city is listed on Andiamo in Puglia’s Taranto page (in Italian), and the same site has an entry on the MArTA museum, in Italian.
In Taranto, Akropolis Museum Hotel is a four-star palazzo of medieval origin on earlier Greek structures, remodeled in the 17th century, with 14 rooms. In Manduria, home of Primitivo according to italia.it and still ringed by remains of megalithic walls, Vinilia Wine Resort turns an early 20th-century mansion into a resort with a spa and a pool.
Crispiano has Masseria Amastuola, whose vineyards were planted to a design by the landscape designer Fernando Caruncho and whose restaurant is open every evening.
In Mottola, where italia.it points to the gravine, the deep gorges cut by water and wind, Casa Isabella is a four-star palazzo built in 1879 with 23 rooms and 3 suites, an underground spa and a garden for weddings of up to 300 guests. Relais Masseria La Grande Quercia, a masseria of 1894 in the countryside near Mottola, is a four-star spa hotel with 18 rooms and a wedding venue, with civil ceremonies possible under a centuries-old oak.
Masseria Bagnara in Lizzano is a farm first documented in the late 1600s, with a pool and a spa in its former storerooms. Masseria Acquasale at San Giorgio Ionico is a four-star hotel in an olive mill of the early 1900s, with a restaurant open to outside guests, and Masseria Le Fabriche in Maruggio is a 17th-century masseria on an organic wine estate.
Borgo Valle Rita in Ginosa is a country resort on 103 hectares that includes the 14th-century Masseria Girifalco. On the coast, Castellaneta Marina received a Blue Flag in 2024, according to its comune, though none of the 12 stays is there.
Five are masserie, three are palazzi, two are resorts and two are hotels. Nine sit in estimated price band 1, under €250 a night for a double room in high season, and three in band 2, €250 to €450. How we select lists the five bands and their thresholds.
The five with a spa are listed together in the spa retreats collection.
The coast fills in summer: the comune of Ginosa says Marina di Ginosa's resident population of about 5,000 rises to 40,000 to 50,000 people then. Vinilia Wine Resort lists its pool from May to October and its restaurant for dinner daily from June to September. Opening months are confirmed for three of the 12 stays: Relais Masseria La Grande Quercia says it is open all year, Masseria Acquasale lists April to December and Masseria Le Fabriche May to September. Ask the others before you plan a winter trip.
Brindisi (BDS) is the nearer airport by straight line for most of the 12, and Bari (BRI) for Casa Isabella and Relais Masseria La Grande Quercia in Mottola and Borgo Valle Rita in Ginosa on the western side. Casa Isabella and Corte Borromeo both name Brindisi and Bari as the airports to choose. Corte Borromeo offers a shuttle on request from airports, stations and ports in Puglia, and Villa Maria in Crispiano lists an airport shuttle. A car is the practical way to link the city, the wine towns and the coast. Each stay page shows its distance to both airports when its position is precise.
Taranto, Statte, Crispiano, Massafra, Mottola, Palagianello, Palagiano, Castellaneta, Ginosa, Laterza, Grottaglie, Montemesola, Monteiasi, Carosino, Faggiano, Fragagnano, Lizzano, Leporano, Pulsano, Roccaforzata, San Giorgio Ionico, Monteparano, Torricella, Sava, Manduria, Maruggio, Avetrana, San Marzano di San Giuseppe, Marina di Ginosa, Castellaneta Marina, Campomarino.
Taranto has Akropolis Museum Hotel. Manduria has Corte Borromeo and Vinilia Wine Resort, Crispiano Masseria Amastuola and Villa Maria, and Mottola Casa Isabella and Relais Masseria La Grande Quercia. Lizzano has Masseria Bagnara, Ginosa Borgo Valle Rita, Pulsano Hotel Il Grillo, San Giorgio Ionico Masseria Acquasale and Maruggio Masseria Le Fabriche.
Five stays confirm a spa on their official sites: Casa Isabella in Mottola, with an underground spa, Masseria Acquasale in San Giorgio Ionico, Masseria Bagnara in Lizzano, Relais Masseria La Grande Quercia near Mottola and Vinilia Wine Resort in Manduria. For the other seven, a spa is not confirmed. The spa retreats collection lists the five.
Manduria is known for Primitivo wine, and italia.it calls the town the home of Primitivo. The town also keeps the remains of megalithic walls of Messapian origin. Two stays on The Puglia Edit are here: Vinilia Wine Resort, with a spa and a pool, and Corte Borromeo, a 16th-century palazzo with seven rooms.
Eight of the 12 host weddings by their own account: Borgo Valle Rita, Casa Isabella, Corte Borromeo, Hotel Il Grillo, Masseria Acquasale, Relais Masseria La Grande Quercia, Villa Maria and Vinilia Wine Resort. Casa Isabella states up to 300 guests and Corte Borromeo up to 120. Casa Isabella, La Grande Quercia, Villa Maria and Vinilia state on-site civil ceremonies.
Gravine are deep gorges cut into the rock by water and wind over geological time, according to italia.it, which describes them around Mottola and Massafra. Massafra has rock churches and settlements along its gravina. Casa Isabella, a palazzo built in 1879, is in Mottola and lists a spa and a garden for events.
Taranto itself works without a car: Akropolis Museum Hotel says it is a few steps from the train station and the city center. The wine towns, the gravine and the Ionian coast are spread across nine comuni, so plan on one there. Corte Borromeo lists a shuttle on request, and Villa Maria an airport shuttle.
Nine of the 12 are estimated in band 1, under €250 a night for a double room in high season. Masseria Bagnara, Masseria Le Fabriche and Vinilia Wine Resort are estimated in band 2, €250 to €450. None publishes a rate we could read, so treat the bands as estimates.
