What the property says

Le Capase Resort sits on a cliff above the sea in Santa Cesarea Terme, within the regional natural park that runs from Otranto to Santa Maria di Leuca. The resort tells its own story as the restoration of an old abandoned building that stood on that cliff, done with respect for nature and local building traditions.

It has 16 rooms, and the resort makes that number its pitch: elegance and privacy. Only children over 14 are hosted, a rule the resort says protects the quiet of its guests.

The Regione Puglia register files Le Capase Resort as a four-star hotel for 2026, with 16 rooms and 32 beds.

The rooms and suites

There are three categories. Classic rooms sit in the center of the resort with a terrace and either a sea view or a garden view, so say which one you want when you book. Prestige rooms are few, spacious and open onto a private patio facing the garden and the sea.

The Superior has a large furnished terrace facing the sea, and the resort says the panorama includes the historic sixteenth-century Minervino Tower and the park.

Every room has large windows opening onto a terrace or patio, air conditioning and a ceiling fan, a safe, a minibar, a hair dryer, Wi-Fi and satellite TV. Bathrobes, pool towels and bathroom products are supplied. Room sizes are not given on the site.

Where you eat

Breakfast is a buffet on the terrace: fresh fruit and juices, croissants, homemade pastries, pasticciotti leccesi (the custard-filled pastries of Lecce), yogurt, artisanal jams, Apulian bread, cold cuts and eggs cooked to order.

Lunch is light and local, with salads, grilled meats and friselle, the twice-baked bread rings of Puglia, dressed in the traditional way.

In the evening the restaurant, Terrazza Paradiso, cooks under chef Cristina Conte. The resort says most products are grown in its organic garden or come from selected local suppliers.

Opening days and months are not confirmed here, so ask before you plan dinners around it.

The setting

The resort says it chose the eastern coast of Salento, which it calls one of the most untouched in Puglia. The pool has a gazebo for shade, and the terrace faces the garden and the sea.

The services list fills the days. Mountain bikes are free, for paths among the olive groves and traces of Roman roads. A boat takes you with a sailor to the coves, riding stables nearby arrange trips on horseback to the bauxite lake, and two Vespa scooters are lent for free excursions.

There is also a 1974 Fiat 124 Spider for a slow drive, and yoga, meditation and massages are on the list too.

Direct access to the water from the property is not confirmed. Ask if swimming from the rocks matters to you.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

Couples who want a small place, a sea view and things to do outdoors will find them here: free bikes, a boat with a sailor, Vespa excursions and horse rides to the bauxite lake.

The resort also lists a romantic dinner under the stars on the terrace, and yoga and meditation sessions for slower mornings.

Families with children under 14 cannot book, because the resort hosts only children over 14. If a spa decides the trip, Masseria Prosperi has one, with a heated indoor pool and a steam bath, and Tenuta Centoporte takes families and sits in the same price band.
