Le alcove dispone di 6 camere Suite suddivise in Mini Suite, Suite, Top Suite. lealcove.it/it/hotel-nei-trulli, solo i bambini di età superiore agli 9 anni di età sono i benvenuti lealcove.it/it/contatti, Non si accettano animali. lealcove.it/it/contatti, Le Alcove is a small hotel made of 6 trulli suites on Piazza Ferdinando IV in Alberobello. The 2026 Regione Puglia register lists it as a four-star hotel with 7 units and 23 beds. Its website calls it a five-star small luxury hotel, but the official category is four stars, and that is the one we use.
Le Alcove is on the Edit for a plain reason: you sleep inside a trullo, in the trulli town, with a reception, breakfast and a shuttle on hand. Every suite is an independent trullo, restored by master stonemasons, and each keeps the name of an old trade.
The name explains the rooms. The hotel describes an alcove as a bed placed in a part of the room sheltered by a stone arch, and two suites use one: Il Cavaliere for a bed, Il Cantastorie for the shower. The trulli themselves, in the hotel’s words, were once farmers’ homes, built dry without mortar.
The 6 suites come in three tiers, Mini Suite, Suite and Top Suite, and no two share a shape or a furnishing scheme. All have a minibar, a safe, satellite TV, wired internet and Wi-Fi, a direct phone, bathrobes and slippers, and bath products by Gabriella Chieffo. Most add a kettle with herbal teas and illy coffee.
Il Poeta is the single de luxe trullo, with a French bed (the Italian name for a narrow double), parquet floors and a bathroom with a shower, lined with limestone pebbles. La Tessitrice is a mini suite with a solid wood double bed, white ceramic lamps from Grottaglie and a white wood loft under a barrel vault. La Levatrice, another mini suite, has a wrought iron double bed and a coral mosaic bathroom with a jacuzzi, and it faces a lane open to cars.
Il Cantastorie puts a double bed under the cone of the master trullo, with a hydromassage shower set in a stone mosaic alcove. Il Sognatore, the top suite, has a canopy double, two singles on a stone mezzanine inside the cone and a hydromassage tub in a separate small trullo reached by a corridor.
Il Cavaliere sleeps five: a double and three singles, two on a wooden mezzanine and one in an alcove, with a shower carved into the stone. Heating and cooling run under the floor in every suite.
Le Alcove serves breakfast in a room called La Cortigiana. The hotel describes a table of artisan delicacies and local specialties, and puts the weight on homemade preparations.
Beyond breakfast, the hotel mentions partner restaurants in the area where guests can eat every day. Ask the reception which restaurants they are and whether the staff can book a table for you.
The same staff handle concierge requests and suggest excursions and itineraries around Puglia. If you want a day out planned, this is the desk to ask.
The setup has a practical upside. The hotel places its suites in the center of Alberobello, so you can walk out to dinner in town and choose a different table each night.
Le Alcove stands on Piazza Ferdinando IV in Alberobello, whose trulli UNESCO inscribed on its World Heritage List in 1996. The listing calls them remarkable examples of corbelled dry-stone construction, a prehistoric building technique still in use in the region.
Il Cantastorie looks onto the small square of Casa d’Amore, one of the four specific sites UNESCO names in the listing, together with Piazza del Mercato, the Museo Storico and the Trullo Sovrano. The two trulli districts, Rione Monti with 1,030 trulli and Rione Aia Piccola with 590, complete the protected area of six parcels over 11 hectares.
The trulli date from as early as the mid-14th century, with pyramidal, domed or conical roofs of corbelled limestone slabs. UNESCO names the extent and uniformity of the protected areas, the building technique still in use and the fact that trulli are still inhabited as what makes the property an exceptional historic urban landscape.
Staying at Le Alcove puts you in the center of Alberobello overnight, where a day trip gives you an afternoon. The hotel’s homepage describes its suites as set into the small square of the town.
Le Alcove suits couples who want a trullo of their own in Alberobello, with breakfast and a reception instead of a key handover. Il Sognatore and Il Cantastorie are the suites to ask for if the room is the point of the trip. Families with children over 9 can ask for Il Cavaliere, the suite with the most beds: a double and three singles.
Look elsewhere if you travel with young children or want dinner without leaving the hotel. Grand Hotel Olimpo is a four-star hotel in the same town with 40 rooms, a lift and its own restaurant. If you would rather cook, La Corte dell’Astore lets trulli with kitchen corners in Alberobello under the name Trulli Antichi Mestieri.
Le Alcove is in Alberobello, in the Valle d’Itria. Bari is the closer airport; Brindisi is the other choice.
The hotel runs a shuttle to and from the main arrival and departure points, so you can arrive without a car. Without the shuttle, the hotel describes a public route from Bari airport: a bus to Bari central station, then the Sud-Est line train to Alberobello, then the signs for Piazza del Popolo.
If you drive, the hotel says you will find signs for Le Alcove at the entrance to town. For day trips around the Valle d’Itria a car is the practical choice, so ask the reception where guests leave it.
Le Alcove is a four-star hotel in the 2026 Regione Puglia register, the official list of accommodation in the region. Its own website calls it a five-star small luxury hotel, a category the register does not give it. Book it for what it is: 6 trulli suites in Alberobello with a reception and breakfast.

Il Cavaliere sleeps the most guests at Le Alcove, with a double bed and three single beds, two on a wooden mezzanine and one set in an alcove. Il Sognatore has a canopy double and two singles on a stone mezzanine. Le Alcove welcomes only children over 9, so plan a family stay around that.
