Look elsewhere if you want a historic building, a masseria or the sea. Villa Giuliani Resort is in the same town and has 7 rooms and a spa, a much smaller option. If a thermal spa is the point, Grand Hotel Terme Margherita di Savoia is a four-star spa hotel on the coast. Anyone sensitive to late noise should ask about the night club first.

Getting there

Bari airport is the obvious choice. Brindisi is much farther away.

Aim for Orta Nova, in the Foggia and the Monti Dauni area. The hotel’s address is on the Strada Statale 16, a state road, and it has private parking. Foggia lies on the same plain, and the hotel’s own site calls the position strategic for the Gargano, Matera and central Puglia.

You need a car here, because the sights, the sanctuaries and the coast are all separate trips.
