What does luxury mean on this page?
A stay is here when the Regione Puglia accommodation register lists it as a five-star hotel, with or without the luxury designation (“5 stelle lusso”). We read the register’s 2026 open data file and matched each row to a stay by name and comune. The classification is the Region’s, and neither our opinion nor our price bands play any part in it.
We hold a category for 105 of the 169 listed stays on the Edit. Of those, 30 are five-star, 15 listed as five stars luxury and 15 as five stars. Seventy-one are four-star and four are three-star.
The other 64 have no category in our data, which means we have not matched them. It says nothing about how they rank.
How do you choose a five-star stay in Puglia?
Start with the area. Fasano and Savelletri has six, Monopoli and Polignano five, Lecce and Gallipoli four each, Otranto three, and Ostuni and the Valle d’Itria two each. Bari and Trani, the Gargano, the Brindisi area and the Foggia area have one each.
The six in Fasano and Savelletri are Borgo Egnazia, Masseria San Domenico, Masseria Torre Maizza, Masseria Calderisi, Masseria Torre Coccaro and Canne Bianche Lifestyle Hotel. They have a page of their own, five-star stays in Fasano and Savelletri. The hubs for Lecce and Monopoli and Polignano show the rest of their stays.
By kind, ten are boutique hotels, eight masserie, five palazzi, five resorts and two hotels. The palazzi include Patria Palace, which its own page calls Puglia’s first five-star hotel in 1997, Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce and Hotel Palazzo Papaleo in Otranto. For the Valle d’Itria, Relais Villa San Martino has 21 rooms and can be booked whole.
The category says nothing about a spa or a beach. Twenty of the 30 confirm a spa on their official sites, among them Posia Retreat & SPA, and ten do not. Five confirm a private beach: Canne Bianche, Il Melograno, Masseria Calderisi, Masseria Torre Coccaro and Posia.

Does a five-star category mean a high price band?
A five-star category does not guarantee a high band, because the two measure different things. Borgo Egnazia and Masseria Torre Maizza are estimated band 5. Nine stays are band 4 and 15 band 3.
Masseria Malvindi, a farmhouse B&B with 15 rooms in Mesagne, is a five-star hotel in estimated band 1, and so is Grand Hotel Vigna Nocelli, five stars luxury with 64 rooms and a spa on the road from Foggia to Lucera. La Locanda del Carrubo on the Gargano and Dogana Resort in Molfetta are band 2.
