How to choose a pet-friendly stay on the Gargano

The seven are very different places, so start with the trip you want. Two are on the coast near Vieste. Gattarella Family Resort is a four-star family resort in a pinewood, with a private beach, two pools and a mini club. Pugnochiuso Resort is a gated holiday resort of about 150 hectares on the coast road between Vieste and Mattinata, with a private beach and two sea-water pools.

A third coast stay, Baia delle Zagare Resort, sits on a cliff on the coast road between Mattinata and Vieste, with two coves reserved for guests. It takes animals up to 15 kg, one per room, for a daily charge, and it is the one estimated band 2 stay on this page.

Two are in the countryside near Peschici. La Chiusa delle More is a 16th-century masseria with 10 rooms among olive trees, a pool and a terrace restaurant. Torre dei Preti, an agriturismo around a 16th-century fortified tower on an estate of more than 26 hectares, has Family Rooms and a pool, and its site is the only one of the seven to say animals are welcome with no condition.

One is on an island. Hotel Kyrie stands in a pine wood on San Domino, in the Isole Tremiti, a three-star hotel with 64 rooms, a pool and a club formula with an entertainment team. It takes one pet up to 10 kg for a nightly supplement.

The seventh, Palace Hotel San Michele, is inland in Monte Sant’Angelo, above the Gulf of Manfredonia. The sea is a drive away, so it suits sightseeing with a dog more than a beach week.

Baia delle Zagare aside, the other six sit in our estimated band 1. The Gargano hub covers the area, and the Puglia-wide list is in Pet-friendly stays.

What do the Gargano stays say about pets?

Each sets its own limits. Gattarella keeps pets out of the common areas and the pool, though dogs may use marked areas of the beach and pets may join you in the outdoor restaurants. Pugnochiuso welcomes them at two of its three types of accommodation.

Palace Hotel San Michele sets a weight and asks for a leash. La Chiusa delle More charges per night. Hotel Kyrie allows one pet up to 10 kg for a nightly supplement, and Baia delle Zagare sets a weight and a daily charge and keeps pets off its beach.

One stay in Vieste is excluded because it says it no longer accepts these requests, and four others show pets as not confirmed in our data. Tell the property which animal you bring, and check whether a beach, a pool or a restaurant is closed to it.

Questions travelers ask

Which stays on the Gargano accept pets?

Seven stays accept pets: Baia delle Zagare Resort, Gattarella Family Resort, Hotel Kyrie, La Chiusa delle More, Palace Hotel San Michele, Pugnochiuso Resort and Torre dei Preti. Only Torre dei Preti states no condition. The other six set one, such as a fee, a weight limit or certain accommodations only. One stay in Vieste says it does not accept pets.

How much does a pet cost at La Chiusa delle More?

La Chiusa delle More, a masseria near Peschici, states on its website that animals are allowed at €10 per night. Baia delle Zagare Resort charges €40 a day, as its page read in October 2026 states, and Hotel Kyrie charges a nightly supplement per pet. Ask the other four about extra charges, in writing.

Is there a size limit for dogs at Palace Hotel San Michele?

Palace Hotel San Michele accepts small dogs up to 15 kg on a leash, and cats in a carrier. Baia delle Zagare Resort sets 15 kg for any animal, one per room, Pugnochiuso Resort takes two small pets or one up to 15 kg, and Hotel Kyrie one pet up to 10 kg. The other three name no size.

Can a pet go anywhere in a Gargano resort?

Gattarella Family Resort keeps pets out of the hotel's common areas, guide dogs aside, and out of the pool. Pugnochiuso Resort welcomes them at Hotel degli Ulivi and the Villette Belvedere, and Baia delle Zagare Resort bars them from the beach, the restaurants and the pool bar. Ask what applies to pools, beaches and restaurants before you book.
