How to choose a pet-friendly stay around Gallipoli
Start with where you want to walk the dog. Four of the six are in the old town of Gallipoli or at its edge: Biancodonda Greenblu Hotel & Spa, Palazzo Colombo, Palazzo Flora and Palazzo Presta.
Palazzo Colombo is a design guesthouse at the entrance of the historic center, with its breakfast, reception and pool at two sister palazzi. All three palazzi open from March to November.
Inland there is more room. Masseria Bernardini is an art resort in a restored farm at Contrada Agnano, in Nardò, with suites and houses of different shapes and pools at the masseria and at the villa. Its site says “pets welcome” with no condition attached, the only stay in the area to do so.
Masseria Macchiaforte is an old manor house near Gallipoli let as eight self-catering apartments, with a pool and a free shuttle to an affiliated beach. It asks you to mention the animal when you book.
