What the property says

Biancodonda Greenblu Hotel & Spa has 32 rooms, a spa, a rooftop pool and a gym, on Via Genuino Pagliano in Gallipoli. The hotel places itself between the ancient village and the Murattiano village, a few steps from the fishing port.

The draw is wellness. Guests in a Suite get a one-hour spa path per person included, and the hotel sells couple and weekend packages with spa access in April, May, September and October, holidays and long weekends excluded.

The trade is food: the hotel describes a bar with a snack menu, and its pages do not describe a dinner restaurant, so evenings happen in town.

The rooms and suites

The 32 rooms come in three types: Deluxe, Privilege and Suite. Deluxe is a double in contemporary style with a sea or city view. Privilege adds a living area with a sofa bed and sleeps up to 3. The Suite is a spacious double with a Jacuzzi tub.

Every type lists air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a 42-inch TV, a minibar, a safe and a hairdryer, and the rooms face either the sea or the alleys of Gallipoli. Privilege is the one to ask about if a third guest is coming, since it is the only type described as sleeping up to 3. Room sizes and the number of sea-view rooms are not confirmed here. Ask which view you are getting before you pay for it.

Eating and drinking

The bar opens the day with coffee, cappuccino, freshly baked croissants, Salento pasticciotto (the local filled pastry), seasonal fruit, juices, yogurt and cereals. From 11:00 to 20:00 it switches to a snack menu built on Puglian specialties.

The spa packages bring food of their own: the weekend packages open with a welcome aperitif on the panoramic sea-view terrace, and the couple package adds fruit and prosecco after the wellness path.

That is the whole food offer the hotel describes. A restaurant with dinner service is not confirmed, so treat the old town as your dining room and ask reception for tables.

The setting

The hotel says it faces the sea from the south side of Gallipoli, where a low cliff gives way to golden sand and bays. The fishing port is a few steps away, and the hotel invites you to walk the historic center, with its cathedral basilica of Sant’Agata, the Greek Fountain and the old walls.

For a day on the sand, the hotel’s own pages point to Baia Verde, a long stretch of fine golden sand with lidos (private beach establishments) a few kilometers from the hotel.

On the roof there is a terrace with loungers and sun umbrellas, and a pool with a whirlpool at its center, looking out over the sea. The spa has a sauna, a hot tub, a Turkish bath and emotional showers. The gym is for guests only, open from 7:00 to 21:00, with stationary bikes, treadmills, ellipticals and dumbbells.

Couples and friends who want a spa day, a roof terrace and the old town and the port on foot will find the full set here. So will anyone who prefers a light breakfast and a snack to a hotel dinner.

The village and the port are a few steps away, so the old town needs no car. If you bring one, the hotel has its covered garage, and a car or a booked tour is how you reach Lecce, Otranto and Santa Maria di Leuca. Tell the hotel your flight when you book if you want the transfer.
